How the job runs

What to expect, start to finish.

  1. Look at the house

Ewan comes out and looks at what is there: the frame, the levels and where the new work has to meet the old.

  2. On the tools

New work is cut and fitted to the existing house, so openings sit square and roof lines run true.

  3. Walk-through

You walk the work with Ewan before the job is called done.

Common questions

Do I need approval for a renovation?

It depends on the work. Structural changes, like taking out a load-bearing wall, need an engineer and often a certifier or council. Decks and patio covers depend on size, height and how close they sit to a boundary. Ewan will tell you on site what the job needs.

Can you match the new work to the old house?

That is the aim on every renovation. Ewan looks at the existing trims, levels and roof line first, so the new work meets the old without a visible join.
